On Sunday, November 2, 2025, the World Mission Society Church of God in Philadelphia hosted its second annual Taste of Korea event. More than 70 guests attended to enjoy an afternoon of learning and culture. For many, it was their first time experiencing Korean traditional clothes and foods. It all took place right here in Philadelphia.
K-History
As guests walked through the church, they visited stations that showcased important parts of Korean culture. Each station focused on something special—like beauty, history, or technology. This helped people learn how Korea grew into the lively and influential country it is today.

These stations explained Korea’s amazing growth. Not long ago, South Korea was a small country facing many challenges. But, over just a few decades, it became one of the world’s strongest economies. In the early 2000s, the country grew quickly and gained global attention.
Many guests were surprised to learn how much Korea had overcome. Overcoming poverty while keeping family values, Korea has now become a leader in technology, entertainment, and culture. The story of Korea’s strength and determination inspired many visitors.
Guests also got to try traditional Korean dishes and play family-friendly Korean games. Children and adults also enjoyed authentic Korean cuisine.
K-Church

The Taste of Korea event was not only educational—it was also warm, fun, and full of great moments. The day ended with a live orchestra and choir. Those visiting left with new knowledge and a deeper appreciation for Korean culture.
The purpose of the event was also to introduce guests to the Church of God. Many may wonder why the Church of God is hosting an event centered around Korean culture. You can’t ignore the major influence Korean culture has on the world — K-dramas, K-beauty, K-food and the list goes on. Among so many cultures, Korea’s stands out. The reason is that the Bible prophesies that when God comes a second time, He will come from the East, specifically in South Korea. As a result, the Church of God was established in South Korea and continues to grow worldwide. Members look forward to welcoming even more friends and neighbors at future events.
