The Heavenly Wedding Banquet

Jesus compared Heaven to a wedding banquet two thousand years ago (Mt 22:1–14). However, elements of the wedding, including himself as the groom (Mt 9:15) were prepared, but the bride was missing. Why?

Christ did not fail to mention her appearance by accident. If Heaven symbolizes a wedding banquet, those invited must recognize both the bride and groom. Moreover, for the wedding to commence, the bride must appear. Without her presence, the Kingdom of Heaven cannot come. If she did not appear at the time of first coming Christ, when will she appear?

Like a traditional wedding where the bride typically appears last, the spiritual bride is expected to appear at the end of the age.

“Let us rejoice and be glad ... For the wedding of the Lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready.”

Apostle John testifies that in the last days, the wedding of Christ can occur because the bride is now ready. As she is unveiled, the guests should be able to see her face and call her by name.

“I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”

The literal city of Jerusalem has never come down from heaven as a bride. This Jerusalem is the Heavenly Jerusalem that Apostle Paul described:

“But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.”

Galatians 4:26

The bride is God the Mother who stands beside God the Father in the wedding banquet. Those who recognize and are invited to attend will be truly blessed.

“Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!”

The World Mission Society Church of God invites all people to Heaven where God the Father and God the Mother dwell.
