God the Mother

Today there are many books and films depicting God having a female image. However, in Christianity, God is known as only having a male image. Nevertheless, throughout the entire Bible, God reveals that there is, in fact, a female image of God. God the Mother has been a mystery, which has been kept hidden since the creation of the world (Eph 3:9), though God gave us hints even through the creation.

Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Romans 1:19-20

Though, we have only known God the Father to exist, God the Mother has been in plain sight through what has been created—through everything that has life. Every living creature has a male and female image. And, ultimately, it is the female image—the mother—who gives life. This is the case with plants, animals, fish, birds, and definitely with human beings. And just as the mother gives birth to physical life, God the Mother gives life to our spirit.

The Female Image of God Exists

From the story of the creation in the book of Genesis, God reveals the mystery of God the Mother. And though we’ve read this numerous times, many Christians have missed this for thousands of years.

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
Genesis 1:26

When God created human beings, He referred to Himself in the plural form saying, “Let us,” instead of saying, “Let me.” In other words, God’s image is plural—there’s more than one image of God.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27 (NLT)

When God created mankind, He formed a man and a woman. Both man and woman were created in the image of God. Through this, God let us know God’s image is not only male but also female.

God Is Our Mother

Christ taught us to pray to God saying, “Our Father” (Mt 9:6). And we, believers of God, are God’s children, as recorded in the Bible (2 Cor 6:18). If there is God our Father, and we are children of God, naturally, there must also be God our Mother.

But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
Galatians 4:26

Apostle Paul preached about the Heavenly Jerusalem—God the Mother. He taught the members of the Early Church about the Heavenly Jerusalem. Apostle John also received a revelation about God the Mother decades after Christ ascended to heaven.

“Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God.
Revelation 21:9

Here, Apostle John saw the Heavenly Jerusalem descending from heaven and coming to this earth. Just as Jesus Christ came in human form, the Heavenly Jerusalem, God the Mother, is prophesied to come to the earth in human form. And in the last days, the Bible also prophesies that She, along with God the Father, will call the children of God to give us eternal life.

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
Revelation 22:17

The Spirit and the Bride—God the Father and God the Mother—are the Ones who, together, can give us all eternal life. Though the existence of God the Mother has remained a mystery to many for thousands of years, millions of members of the World Mission Society Church of God believe in God the Father and God the Mother because They are testified in the Bible.
