International Food Festival (2)

The World Mission Society Church of God in Northeast Philadelphia opened its doors to celebrate an International Food Festival. The event served as an introduction to different countries and nations through food and cultural experiences. The church was filled with laughs and love, shared by neighbors, coworkers, families and loved ones. Although celebrated nationally, this marks the first food festival for the Church of God in Philadelphia.

Celebrating Food, Culture and Community

As guests entered the doors they were led on a tour to learn about the establishment of the church. Tour guides explained about the Church of God’s spread to 175 different countries with over 4 million members. The tour also included the beliefs of the church of God to familiarize guests before entering the main event.

Then it was time for guests to taste and enjoy dishes from around the globe. There were dishes from Korea, India, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Africa and many other places. This also shows how many cultures can be brought together by sharing food with one another through their own culture.

New Foods , New Experiences

With so many new experiences, guests also were introduced to the core belief of the Church of God, The Passover of the New Covenant. The night before He gave up His life, Jesus promised His flesh and blood through the Passover bread and wine. This was the start of the New Covenant Passover, the food of eternal life that has spread across the globe.
