On September 4, 2025, 24 ASEZ WAO volunteers hosted a luncheon for the residents of West Oak Lane Senior Center. In honor of International Grandparents Day, ASEZ WAO members spent a pleasant afternoon with seniors to strengthen the bond between generations through service, and to reinforce filial duty across borders and cultures.

Both residents and the volunteers enjoyed each other’s company. It was like a reunion with grandparents that they have not seen in a long time.

The volunteers created a joyful atmosphere while serving the residents lunch, followed by an introduction video and panel display so the residents could learn more about ASEZ WAO. The members entertained the elderly with two songs, A Person Who Changes the World, a Church of God original, and “ My Girl” by the Temptations.

Also, the luncheon concluded with encouraging words from Philadelphia Council member Anthony Philips who was among the attendees for the event. The event serves as a practical way of encouraging the elderly to stay happy and healthy. ASEZ WAO continues to take action to bring about a positive change to society, through practicing giving love to all mankind as God says love your neighbors as yourself.
