The Heavenly Wedding Banquet
Jesus compared Heaven to a wedding banquet two thousand years ago (Mt 22:1–14). However, elements of the wedding, including himself as the groom (Mt 9:15) were prepared, but the bride was missing. Why?
Christ did not fail to mention her appearance by accident. If Heaven symbolizes a wedding banquet, those invited must recognize both the bride and groom. Moreover, for the wedding to commence, the bride must appear. Without her presence, the Kingdom of Heaven cannot come. If she did not appear at the time of first coming Christ, when will she appear?
“Let us rejoice and be glad ... For the wedding of the Lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready.”
Revelation 19:7
“I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”
Revelation 21:2
“But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.”
Galatians 4:26
“Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!”
Revelation 19:9
