Q: Why is the WMSCOG called Zion?
“But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven…”
Hebrews 12:22-23
“In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established…Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
Micah 4:1-2
In Mount Zion, the word of the Lord comes from Jerusalem and God’s people assemble to keep the law of God. As the WMSCOG assembles to keep God’s Feasts (Isa 33:20) and follows the words from Jerusalem, it is the prophesied Mount Zion. Does this mean that all people should go to Jerusalem to hear the words of God? What does Jerusalem indicate?
“But the Jerusalem that is above is free and she is our mother.”
Galatians 4:26
Zion is the only place in the world that keeps the original Feasts of God as taught by Jesus. It is also the only church in the world that testifies to the existence of God the Mother who promises eternal life along with God the Father in the last days (Rev 22:17).
