Our Relationship With God

Relationships are an important part of life, connecting everything in ways we may not always see. The story of Fleming and Churchill is an example of a special relationship that saved lives. When Fleming was a boy, he saved Churchill from drowning. Although they did not meet again for many years, Churchill later helped Fleming attend medical school. As the Prime Minister, Churchill became seriously ill, and it was Fleming’s discovery of penicillin that saved him. Their relationship was one that ultimately saved lives.

Similarly, the Bible shows the importance of maintaining a relationship with God. For example, Peter’s relationship with God was at risk when he nearly broke it by refusing to participate in the foot-washing ceremony (John 13:8). The Bible also teaches that failing to observe the Passover could separate someone from God’s people (Numbers 9:1-13). Through God’s Feasts, people can maintain a relationship with God, and neglecting them can damage that bond. Worshiping God correctly is crucial to keeping a strong relationship with Him.

How To Recognize Christ

Q: How could the disciples recognize Jesus even though His name is not found in the Old Testament?
A: The name “Jesus” is not recorded in the Old Testament. Even if the name “Jesus” was in the Old Testament, people would not believe in Him just because His name is Jesus. For example, 2,000 years ago “Jesus” was a common name in Israel (Col 4:11). Therefore, the name “Jesus” alone is not enough evidence to testify to the Christ.
